28.10.2016 Meet James.
We're a Cooperative Brewery.
Run and owned by it's members.
1100 of us.
The Board of Directors oversees all our Beery Adventures.
We think you should start to meet them.
'Jamesie is secretary of the co-operative (as well as being a frustrated solicitor in his day job) and as a proud ‘harbour rat’ is one of the best (or least worst) things to come out of Larne since the A8. He loves his beer… He also loves Metallica, the Arsenal and otters.
Having lived in London for more than 10 years, Boundary was something of an epiphany for him. When the opportunity to apply for the board presented itself, it was one of the foremost reasons he loaded up his trusty Golf and made the intrepid journey up to Stranraer and back to smokey Belfast Town.
James’s love for beer is deep… and (like a lot of us) is frustrated with current approach and prevailing attitudes to brewing and selling beer in Northern Ireland (not helped by our wonky politicians and the predatory, cynical and megalomaniacal practices of 'Big Beer'). Along with others on the board and the wider Boundary community, he has made it his life's mission to educate and change attitudes to beer in Northern Ireland, slowly but surely, grain-by-grain, hop-by-hop.
James believes that Belfast should be up there with the likes of Portland, London, Manchester and Copenhagen as a beer mecca.
As an avid homebrewer, James loves nothing more than tuning into talkSPORT on the wireless of a Saturday afternoon (or Test Match Special in the summer) and seeing though a brew day to it's gritty end … At the time of writing, a 13% imperial stout is in the secondary. Samples or swappsies available on request.'
